What is Melasma?

Melasma is a chronic pigment condition causing brown or grey-brown patches, often on the cheeks, forehead and upper lip, and linked to hormones and sun. It is managed rather than cured, using low-energy laser toning, pico laser, topical and sometimes oral medication (such as tranexamic acid), and strict sun protection. At Louave in Cheongdam, Gangnam, Seoul, gentle settings are used to avoid flare-ups.
